Lately, I’ve been trying to get back into programming as a fun hobby rather than as a means to an end. I’m trying to take things one step at a time and not beat myself up (too much) about the quality of my code.
In keeping with that mission, here is a very badly written PICO-8 game, inspired by the 1979 classic Lunar Lander, which is, of course, better in every way.
Here’s the “game cartridge” (if you have PICO-8, you can right click to save this .png file, then load it into PICO-8 to play locally):
You can try out the game in your browser or download the .p8 file to run/modify locally if you like. Like all PICO-8 games, the code is included with the cartridge, so you can point and laugh.
